/ 9Avatar sequels are some of the most hotly-awaited projects in Hollywood. James Cameron is directing four sequels. The official Twitter handle of the franchise, which Disney owns through its Fox acquisition, has been tweeting out behind-the-scenes pictures of the sequels. They shed light on the visual aspects of the sequels. The first Avatar film was a visual marvel. Especially in 3D, the film looked stunning. We can expect the sequels to carry forward the vibrant, colourful look of Pandora. (Photo: Avatar/Twitter)
/ 9The original Avatar flipped the traditional alien invasion premise of most films involving extraterrestrials. Instead of aliens invading earth, the humans invaded Pandora, a moon of the gas giant Polyphemus, populated by a race of humanoids called Na’Vi, a peace-loving and close to nature blue-hued species with feline eyes. They are taller than us and physically strong. Humans arrived on Pandora to mine unobtanium, a highly valuable mineral found only on Pandora. Most human invaders do not care if the Na’vi die or not. 3 / 9Avatar sequels’ latest behind-the-scenes pictures show how the makers are shooting underwater scenes. The caption read, “From the set of the sequels: @JimCameron directing the actors before they dive underwater for performance capture. Fun fact: That layer of white on the water’s surface is comprised of floating balls that prevent lights from interfering with filming underwater.” (Photo: Avatar/Twitter)
/ 9This is something like what Pandora is going to look like in the sequels. It appears Cameron and team are going to outdo themselves. The official handle wrote about the concept art, “In the #Avatar sequels, you won’t just return to Pandora — you’ll explore new parts of the world. Check out these brand new concept art pieces for a sneak peek at what’s to come.” (Photo: Avatar/Twitter)
/ 9Another concept art shows a Na’vi and a shadow of the Great Leonopteryx, one of Pandora’s many fictional beasts. “We’ve unearthed a new piece of concept art to share! Here’s an early concept design of a Na’vi standing cliffside as the Great Leonopteryx soars above,” the caption read. (Photo: Avatar/Twitter)
/ 9The original Avatar tackled topics like colonialism, exploitation, nature and so on. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver played the main roles. Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, and Matt Gerald appeared in supporting roles. All of them will return in the sequels, including Weaver in a new role. Mother’s Day 2020 in India Date: The importance of mothers needs no retelling. Our lives are stitched with their presence, both visible and invisible. In an attempt to honour and celebrate them, every year a day is dedicated just for them. Celebrated as Mother’s Day, it is observed on the second Sunday of May every year. This year it will be observed on May 10.
Roots of the origin of the day lies in the time a woman called Anna Jarvis had held a memorial for her mother when she passed away in 1905. She did that at St Andrew’s Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia, the same place where the International Day shrine is held. It was also her who had started a campaign to recognise Mother’s Day as a holiday in the United States.
